About Us
Reformed Development C.I.C was established in 2009 to promote positive behaviors and encourage positive change, initially providing services to deter young people from a life of crime and prevent negative social outcomes among them. We work with people with convictions to encourage them to make positive changes in their lives and deter further re-offending. We are passionate about what we do and believe people should be guided in the right direction and made aware of the consequences of negative actions and influences.

Over the past few years, with the ever-changing environment of the current criminal justice system, we have seen a change in direction in our focus and commitments. This has now enabled us to broaden our remit and make a wider social impact with our work.

Through our own personal first-hand experience of evolving from service users to service providers, we have identified the lack of understanding and human approach provided by professional services that work with vulnerable and at-risk communities. This has allowed us to create a completely unique and holistic approach to positively engage with these communities and provide a first-class service with outstanding success rates in transitioning those who come into contact with our service onto positive pathways, while working collaboratively with all social agencies.

Using our lived experience, we have created a much-needed organization for deprived communities that face a continued uphill struggle to find their way in life due to the restricting and limiting factors that come with having criminal convictions. Living through this experience as two black females with unspent convictions put us in the best position possible to holistically engage with these communities.

We have now moved our organization into an academic arena where we partner with academic establishments to succeed in our goal of creating changes within the criminal justice system one step at a time. This is done using the vast and varied amount of hands-on experience we have gained from a grassroots level in providing these services for the past 12 years. This provides us the experience to develop and inform the next generation of decision-makers to understand the broader aspects of a person’s lived experience.
