Working Futures programme

The Working Futures Programme, led by Greenbank College with VOLA Consortium, brings together a unique partnership  to provide tailored, flexible interventions to integrate young people who are not in education, employment and training (NEET) into the labour market.

The Programme addresses the diversity, complexity and geographical profile of NEET young people in the LCR LEP area, through a proven multi-agency approach delivering employability and skills development, work experience and barrier removal support to the target group.

The Programme will complement and add value to mainstream and other local ESIF/YEI provision and enable participants to progress into work, education and training.

  1. Eligibility

All participants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Age:

    • 16 to 29 years:

  • Live in the Liverpool City Region (LCR) LEP area: Halton Knowsley,Liverpool Sefton, St Helens or Wirral.

  • Employment/ training status: NEET or Economically inactive


  1. Programme Delivery


  • Medium Term interventions:For those who would prefer a longer programme to boost their confidence, decide goals and priorities, gain work experience etc.
    Usually for two days per week for up to twelve weeks (approx 120 hours)

Key Workers (KWs):

Every participant will have a Key Worker to provide personalised support, coaching and mentoring throughout the programme, and to be the first point of contact for the young person. KWs will identify and address barriers to progression, providing advocacy and brokerage of specialist support services to meet individual needs, providing the individual focus and attention that too often they have not previously received.
